You could be mistaken for feeling entwined inside a giant Jenga set. Instead, you are walking on a lovingly planned grand staircase featuring thousands of pieces of reclaimed wood. The magnificent structure inside the Nishi Building symbolises the revitalisation of the capital and the birth of a new, thriving city cultural precinct, NewActon. The structure was made using reclaimed wood from a house, basketball court and offcuts from the Nishi construction site itself. In 2015, it won World Interior of the Year at the World Festival of Interiors in Singapore.
