CARRIBERRIE VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCE

2018. Photograph of Francis Williams of the Naygayiw Gigi Dance Troupe.

Carriberrie is a virtual reality experience that tells the story of Australia through Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander song and dance. Carriberrie uses cutting-edge immersive technologies, which the National Film and Sound Archive is now collecting and preserving alongside traditional audiovisual formats. By taking users on a journey into Indigenous song and dance, Carriberrie builds deeper understanding and respect between cultures. It also preserves traditional ceremonial and contemporary song, dance, language and performance for future generations. Enjoy this experience, and the rest of the national collection, in Canberra.
