Described by the artist as “a happy signpost”, Phil Price’s wind-activated, kinetic sculpture Journeys is made of 22 moving components that flow independently of one another, evoking the emotions of journeys and the transformation that travel delivers. Price had not named the sculpture before its installation at Canberra Airport. Instead, the name was selected from hundreds of suggestions from the public. It has become a beloved icon for the city.
